One production: Intro To Food Styling
Throughout the 10 week course, Warren Ottey and other prominent professionals in the field will help you understand what food styling is and how it affects the world around us, as well as practical, hands-on lessons on the basic skills required to become a productive on-set apprentice.

Explore how to maintain a fresh look.

Camera Angles and Lighting
Basic language used to give a fuller understanding of how the food is shot on set.

Week 4:
Sandwich Building
The big build! Prepare ingredients to construct a photo-ready burger.

Week 5:
Training Your Eye
(What Food Directors Look For)
Composition of plated dishes, how to build for the camera angle, and how to build for the light.

When to Stop!
Learn when ingredients are at their appropriate finish.

Coffee & Doughnuts
The importance of how to handle and preserve hot and cold drinks for a set.

LIFE
Fireside chat with other BIPOC stylists on the experience of working in a predominantly white field.

Final Help & Prep
Review techniques learned in class and prepare for the class final.

Finals and the Future
Present final projects and discuss future goals.
